Disability Standards Review 2025

The Australian Government is reviewing the Standards to make sure they are supporting students to access and participate in education and training.

The 2025 Review is considering three topics:

  1. How well the Standards are being implemented,
  2. What more can be done to support inclusive decision-making and complaints handling, and
  3. Whether responsibilities for assessment authorities and course developers are clear.

The Review invites feedback from anyone with an interest in making sure students with disability can access and participate in education and training.

AACS has made a submission on behalf of our members, with recommendations focusing on improving resource awareness, building school capacity through designated Standards champions, and supporting VET and workplace learning providers to accommodate students with disability.

Schools or individuals are also encouraged to provide input. The closing date for feedback is Friday 21 November 2025.

More information and the Discussion Paper are available here.
