AACS CEO, Vanessa Cheng, along with Pastor Mark Edwards, representing Australian Christian Churches, recently met with Queensland Attorney General Hon. Deb Frecklington MP in her office in Brisbane to discuss key legislative developments affecting Christian schools. The meeting focused on the Respect at Work Bill, the operation of Queensland’s Anti-Discrimination Act and the upcoming review of the Human Rights Act. We welcomed the Government’s decision to pause the Respect at Work Bill to allow for further consultation with faith-based stakeholders. The Attorney-General welcomed the opportunity to hear our view and AACS will continue to engage constructivey to consulltations and policy development on these matters.
