AACS Meets with WA Opposition Leader

Vanessa Cheng met with the Western Australia Leader of the Opposition, Basil Zempilas and Shadow Education Minister Liam Staltari. Vanessa was pleased to be joined at this meeting by Nicole Pleysier, WA SEO of CEN and Executive Principal of Rehoboth Christian College.

The purpose of the meeting was to outline AACS’s serious concerns with the WALRC Recommendations to amend the Equal Opportunity Act, in particular the removal of the Religious Educational Institutions exception and introduction of an inherent requirements test, similar to the Act that exists in Victoria.

AACS will continue to monitor the progress of this bill, which is expected during this term of Parliament.
