AACS looks forward to continued engagement with the government and the newly appointed Attorney-General, Michelle Rowland.
In The Australian newspaper, AACS Executive Officer Vanessa Cheng expressed hope for renewed progress on a Religious Discrimination Bill as Ms Rowland had engaged positively with faith communities during the election campaign.
Mrs Cheng said, “Christian schools needed the right to hire teachers from their own faith and any changes to the Sex Discrimination Act needed “broad consensus across the parliament”.
AACS will continue advocating for strong, fair protections for faith-based education.
