Review of Section 83C of the Education Act 1990 (NSW)

Last year AACS were invited to provide direct feedback on behalf of our member schools and have now provided a joint submission with Christian Schools Australia (CSA) in relation to the Review of Section83C of the Education Act 1990 (NSW).

In our submission we clearly state that we support accountability measures to ensure that government funding for non-government schools is spent on the provision of education. We are concerned, however, that in the application of the current legislation, school funding and resources that would be otherwise spent on the provision of education has to be diverted to meeting onerous accountability measures that do not reflect the original intention of the Act.
