SA Election: Commitment to Religious Freedom

As South Australia heads to the polls this Saturday, the Australian Association of Christian Schools (AACS) has welcomed a clear bipartisan commitment from both major parties to uphold legal protections for religious schools.

Following AACS advocacy to both the Malinauskas Labor Government and the Liberal Opposition led by Ashton Hurn, both parties have confirmed their support for maintaining existing protections for religious educational institutions under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).

This commitment provides important confidence for Christian schools that they can continue to employ staff and operate in accordance with their faith, regardless of the election outcome.
