SA State Election

A Voice for Christian Education

SA State Election

7 March 2022

Early voting starts today for the South Australian State election, where South Australians will get a say in who governs them for the next four years. AACS is seeking to make religious freedom and authentic Christian schooling election issues. AACS has written to the Premier, Steven Marshall, and Leader of the Opposition, Peter Malinauskas, seeking a commitment from them not to remove exemptions to equal opportunity law that allow Christian schools to preference Christians when hiring staff. These exemptions are crucial to the authenticity of the Christian school model. Neither major party has committed to maintaining these protections in the campaign so far but minor party Family First has committed to this policy, it can be viewed here. AACS are urging voters to make their views known to the major parties. If you are concerned about what a future State Government might do to Christian schooling in SA, please visit our campaigns page where you can send a letter of your own to your political leaders.
